These are the results of the chess engines found in "Debian testing" of 2006/12/01.

Settings

  • DEFAULT settings (of the installation package) were used, with the following changes
  • the largest openingbook available (as a Debian package) was used
  • random was switched off
  • 50 moves were played in 60 minutes, after one of these was reached, the match was considered a draw
  • pondering (thinking in the opponents time) was switched OFF

Hardware/software used

  • Dell PowerEdge 2400
  • 2 x 860MHz Pentium-III (256KB cache)
  • 512MB ram
  • hardware mirrored system disks of 9GB
  • Linux kernel version 2.6.17-2-686 (standerd Debian package)
  • libc6-i686 version 2.3.6.ds1-8
  • AutoPlay v0.7
  • Chess engines using the UCI protocol were interfaced to autoplay using the 'polyglot' (1.4-2) package
